LEAN / Six Sigma

Six Sigma is a systematic improvement concept that was originally created within the Motorola group in the 1980s. Improvement work is based on a clear structure of well-defined roles.

Each improvement is driven with a consistent workflow in five steps:

  • Define
  • Measure
  • Analyze
  • Improve
  • Control

One success factor of LEAN/Six Sigma is that there are educated improvement leaders (Black Belts and Green Belts) who have knowledge of structured problem solving and statistical analyzes. LEAN/Six Sigma is a quality improvement concept and has been applied in most industries with great success.
